With stagnant website traffic averaging around 20 visitors per day, Ridgeway Country Club needed a fresh, new website to tell their unique story, appeal to new potential members, and serve the needs of current members. Stellar Blue took on the challenge by designing a new, multimedia-rich, and responsively designed site. Since the website launched nearly eight months ago, the site is now averaging nearly 200 visitors per day.
Ridgeway Country Club’s goals revolved around visually showcasing their premier 18-hole course that is a primary draw for members, as well as highlighting the elegant banquet and event facilities available for private events. They also wanted to make the website more functional for members by creating a special events calendar to draw attention to their own special events.
Having a multi-goal approach to this project meant bringing in the entire Stellar Blue team to make sure the website was able to accomplish all of these things simultaneously.
We first focused on how we would tell the story of the beautiful golf course. Our multimedia team got our drone in the air and flew through the entire 18 holes on a spectacularly sunny day. Showcasing the course hole by hole gave our team the best way to help Ridgeway to stand out from its competitors on the web. These videos were not only used in the hero space of the website but are also available via a video and photo course tour on the site.
Informational overlays on the videos for each hole of the course to give prospective members a birds-eye view of what their day of golf will be like and give them stats on yardage and handicap before they even hit the course for the first time.
The nearly 900 percent increase in average daily visitors since the new site launched almost eight months ago shows how it has become a hub for current and prospective members.
Stellar Blue is also planning a wedding video shoot to provide a virtual reality 360-degree view of the banquet facilities, which is scheduled to be completed this upcoming summer.
