In the digital marketing industry, the first part of this year will be remembered for mobile surfing and visual content. But what does the rest of 2015 have in store? With no pun intended, we expect social shopping to be a pretty big trend by years end.
With Pinterest and Instagram already jumping on the bandwagon with in-feed buy buttons and Facebook, Twitter and Google testing the concept, you may find yourself doing your holiday shopping from your favorite social accounts.
Pinterest Buy Button
Pinterest announced just last month the launch of Buyable Pins. This means if you like that pair of shoes you see on Pinterest, you can now make them yours with a few simple clicks. All without ever having to leave the Pinterest app. So long gone are the days of tracking down that item, creating a new account, ordering the item and then finding your way back to Pinterest. It’s easy breezy from here on out!
Instagram Shop Now Button
Instagram is taking part in the trend as well by offering a “Shop Now” button right in the post itself.
Facebook announced last year that they were testing a Buy button. With this feature, people on desktop or mobile can click the “Buy” call-to-action button to make a purchase directly from a business. All without leaving Facebook, of course.
Do you use Google AdWords? Google just announced this month that they too are testing their Buy Button in Google AdWords as we speak.
As you can see, the trend is spreading like wildfire! What do you think of the new trend? Let us know in the comments below!
