No matter the size, any business can see success with social media if utilized properly. Small companies have particularly been fond of Facebook and Twitter. According to a recent marketing survey, 90 percent of small businesses are on Facebook and 70 percent are on Twitter.

But small businesses are not just “on” these networks, they’re active. The number of small businesses that have increased their social media budgets is four times higher than those that have decreased their budgets. This suggests that social media marketing is working…and growing!

Funny to think that as little as two years ago, many of these same business owners were not even willing to look at Facebook or Twitter for more than 15 minutes. Now, according to market research, around 43 percent of owners spend 6+ hours every week tweeting or posting on Facebook.
