Did you know these iPhone Secrets?

Overwhelming, the most recent talk of the town has been the release of the updated iPhone 5. With all the bells and whistles of the iOS system it seems like the iphone can do just about everything except take over the world. We’re willing to bet that there are a few features you haven’t heard about or used before—even if you are not a lucky iphone5 owner!

  • Custom Vibes
    Do not forget about the customization available in iOS 5, such as custom vibrations.  By tapping on the glass the pattern you want, holding down you finger for longer notes, you can create exactly how you want your phone to vibrate. You can assign these vibrations to a contact or use them system wide.
    How to do it?: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn on Custom Vibrations under Hearing. Then, go to Settings > Sounds. Scroll to the bottom, and there’s Vibration Patterns
  • Hello, Siri?
    There is another way to us Siri that doesn’t require holding down the home button. Did you know you could call up Siri by simply holding up the iphone to your ear? What a great way to use Siri in public!
    How to do it?: Go to Settings > General > Siri, and then select Raise to Speak. Now the light sensor on the iPhone will detect when you’ve got the phone up to your ear, and Siri will pick up.
  • Twitter is IN
    Twitter is now completely integrated into iOS 5! This means you do not need a 3rd party application to tweet.  Whenever you take a picture, you’ve got the option to send it to Twitter without ever opening the official app.
    How to do it?: Setup your Twitter account by downloading the official twitter app then go to Settings > Twitter and enter your username and password (if you have more than one Twitter account, no worries, it’s all supported.

  • Say Cheese!
    Your volume button on your iPhone and your headphones can also act as a shutter button when taking pictures. This will keep all of your shots in focus.
    How to do it?: Hold your iPhone with two hands horizontally and push down the + button usually reserved for raising the volume. Now you’ve got a stable picture! The same trick works for the volume button on your headphones plugged into your iPhone.
  • iMessage
    iOS 5 brings you iMessage and the ability to get receipts when people read your messages. You must Opt-in though.
    How to do it?: Go to Settings > Messages and turn on Send Read Receipts.
